Why should you dispose of you unused or unwanted prescription and over the counter drugs? Research shows medication residues leach into water systems, posing serious threats to wildlife. Out-of-date medications can also cause adverse effects due to deterioration or changes in the active ingredients and can lead to accidental poisoning.
